About Me

Kimani Keliyah Hamilton is a New Orleans native and a mass communication major at Xavier University of Louisiana.

 

 In middle school, Kimani developed a passion for public speaking, which lead her to become a member in the speech and debate club. She participated in local tournaments and won numerous awards. Her passion continued throughout high school, where she then became president of the speech and debate team.

 She immediately began to develop a passion for writing once she stepped foot on Xavier University of Louisiana's Campus. Since then, she has published eight articles (seven in the newspaper and one online). Her articles have featured celebrities such as The Breakfast Club host, Angela Yee, and actress, Amanda Seales. They have also featured politicians such as New Orleans Mayor, LaToya Cantrell, and Congressman Cedric Richmond.

 

In college, this aspiring journalist's future career really took off. She interned with Our World Tv, NOA-TV, WDSU, and other local organizations.

 

Kimani hopes to be an inspiration to those younger than her and pave the way for journalists.
